Tanya Zharov joins Akthelia Board of Directors

Tanya Zharov, attorney has joined the Board of Directors of Akthelia as an independent director. Tanya brings over 25 years of experience in biotechnology, finance, and corporate governance, with an extensive background across the pharmaceutical and life-science industries.

She is current General Counsel and Deputy CEO of Icelandic biosimilar company Alvotech. prior to that she was Deputy CEO at deCODE Genetics.

From 2008 to 2015, she was a Founding Partner and Deputy CEO of Audur Capital, an Icelandic securities firm, where she managed legal affairs, corporate finance, wealth management, private equity, and capital markets.  

In addition, Tanya has held board and advisory roles in several Icelandic startup ventures, including ORF Genetics and Carbon Recycling International, contributing her expertise in governance, regulation, and international business development. 

Tanya holds a Cand. Juris degree from the University of Iceland and is a certified European Patent Attorney. She is recognized as a specialist in US and global public markets regulation and legal best practices.
